Expand Housing Options

Logan has worked to increase housing options so our city can meet the needs of our residents. He helped lower housing costs by passing the property tax rebate program. He is encouraging the construction of a more diverse and attainable array of housing options with permit-ready designs. And he supported the city’s use of economic development tools to expand the supply of housing in Overland Park.

In addition to these achievements, Logan helped remove discriminatory language from housing documents and land records that originated in the early 1900s. He has focused on making housing and new developments in Overland Park more energy efficient and in line with green building standards.

Logan believes there’s more to be done. This includes responsibly expanding the property tax rebate program to all households in the city. And when we are negotiating with developers, the City must ensure they are advancing our goals for sustainable, quality housing at prices that our neighbors, seniors, and young adults can afford.

Protect Our Green Spaces

As the Executive Director of a conservation nonprofit, Logan understands the importance of protecting our green spaces and, in turn, our quality of life. That's why he is championing the City’s Urban Forest Plan which will ensure our parks, neighborhoods, and natural areas continue to be healthy and vibrant for generations to come.

Logan works with our City’s Environmental Advisory Council and has served on the City’s Advisory Council on Parks and Recreation. He also represents the City Council on the City’s tree board, the Legacy of Greenery Committee.

Rethink Transportation

Logan believes we need to rethink our transportation system so that it is more accessible and equitable. As a City Councilmember, he helped expand options for transportation with plans for new and safe biking and walking paths on 79th Street, Merriam Drive, and Metcalf Avenue. Logan was also instrumental in adding new bus routes to popular restaurants, shopping centers, trails and other top attractions. Because of his efforts, Overland Park has several public electric vehicle charging stations at parks throughout the city, with plans to add more.

Continue Sustainability Efforts

Logan believes that we must do our part to protect and enhance our environment. Logan has helped to bring EV charging stations and the City’s first solar panel system to Overland Park, and championed the adoption of green building objectives that will deliver long-term operational savings to benefit taxpayers.

Renew Our Infrastructure

One of Logan’s top priorities is ensuring that our sidewalks are repaired to help our neighbors get around, and that we reconstruct our aging neighborhood streets to beautify the places where we live. This includes burying power lines that are eyesores in our community.
